Good dental care is mostly routine: a thorough cleaning, a careful exam, the occasional X-ray, and a filling when a cavity is caught early. Do that twice a year and most people avoid root canals, extractions and gum surgery altogether. That is the goal of every checkup at Singh Smile Care.
Our hygienists, Kim, Diane, Melissa and Ernesto, are the people patients mention most in reviews. They take their time, explain what they see and show you what to do at home. If you have not been to a dentist in years, that is fine; nobody here will lecture you.
Checkups, Cleanings & Exams
A cleaning removes plaque and tartar above and below the gum line, then polishes the teeth. The exam checks for decay, gum pockets, cracked fillings, sores and signs of oral cancer. We review your medical history and medications, and we want to hear about any sensitivity or anxiety so we can adjust.

Digital X-rays & Intra-Oral Cameras
Digital X-rays show decay between teeth, bone loss, abscesses and impacted wisdom teeth that an exam cannot see, with about 90% less radiation than film. New patients and anyone without recent X-rays will usually have a set taken. An intra-oral camera lets you see on screen exactly what we see.
Scaling & Root Planing
When bacteria and tartar collect in pockets below the gum line, a regular cleaning is not enough. Scaling and root planing is a deeper cleaning that reaches the root surfaces, sometimes over more than one visit, to treat gingivitis and gum disease before teeth loosen.
Mercury-Free Fillings & Sealants
Cavities are filled with tooth-colored composite resin that bonds to the tooth, so there is no silver and no mercury. Sealants are a thin protective coating painted into the grooves of back teeth, most often for children, to keep food and bacteria out.
Nightguards, Mouthguards & Oral Cancer Screening
A custom nightguard protects teeth from grinding and clenching, which wears enamel and can be an early sign of sleep apnea. A custom sports mouthguard helps prevent injuries to teeth and soft tissue during contact sports. Oral cancer screening takes under five minutes and is part of your routine exam.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I come in?
Every six months for most people. If you have gum disease or build up tartar quickly, we may suggest more frequent visits.
Are X-rays safe?
Our digital X-rays use about 90% less radiation than traditional film, and we only take the images we need to diagnose properly.
What does the $59 New Patient Special include?
An exam and X-rays for $59, plus complimentary custom whitening trays and gel. It is for all new patients, with or without insurance, and is pre-paid when you book. Mention the offer to receive the whitening trays.
Does a cleaning hurt?
Most patients feel some scraping and pressure, not pain. If your teeth or gums are sensitive, tell the hygienist at the start and they will adjust their approach.
Do you see children?
Yes. We treat patients of all ages, and sealants are part of our care for kids.
What if it has been years since my last visit?
Come in anyway. We start with an exam and X-rays, deal with anything urgent first, and build a plan at a pace that suits you and your budget.
